Children art workshop offered weekly online each week focused on a different artist.

Design Camp was a collaboration between Nuqat and Art Studio Kwt. The workshop began by inviting its participants to explore their own visual vocabulary and culture through collage, bricolage, photos, sketching, mosaics and more.

They began by asking questions of ; How are the arts conceivably the best tool for design-related and community-building work we want to do in the 21st century?

Through exploration we can understand the importance of scripts harmonization, concept development, bricolage, visual design and simplification to convey messages that best represent us best within our own social spaces.

The use of concept mapping is used to mark the stages of the process throughout the workshop.

In this three-hour intensive requested by the LOYAC KON program a 6-week social entrepreneurship program that is brought to Kuwait in collaboration with Babson College in Boston 12-16 year old students were introduced to the method of ideation. The step by step creative process that helps us generate and model new ideas.

A summer camp for young and creative minds that are just waiting to be unleashed. This camp is all about renewing your child's creativity and imagination.

This four-week camp was a collaboration with the Young Explorer’s club. Various art projects where used to create curiosity in the students from simple activities to complex themes and stories. It was a pleasure working with the team at Young Explorers.

In this experimentally 3-day studio we investigated various forms of art making. Starting at 8:00 pm and going full blast for 72 hours nonstop. This was an explosion of creativity with multiple artists teaching classes in diverse mediums from weaving, painting, drawing, sculpting, graphic design, product design, and illustration. This process culminated with a small show at the end.

For the first time in Kuwait, a two-week program will introduce students to the art of storytelling through puppetry. Students will collaborate to develop a narrative while creating characters using art materials and found objects. Participants will have the opportunity to create a stage production with portions of the proceeds going towards supporting FSRI to spread awareness and support for Neurological Degenerative diseases. Our resident artist Samantha Anne Maggio, Executive Artistic Producer of Suspended Belief Theatre: @suspendedbelieftheatre will guide the students in a creative puppetry exploration and share her expertise in the puppetry arts. Children will Learn: How to trust in the process of making, to let go of all structures from their lives outside of the Atelier. This will enrich their aesthetic production and confidence in making. We will explore community, sharing known experiences, inventing characters, building props, storytelling and the dramatization of stories, puppet making, scene making, negotiation, and painting for theatre.

Consider this: Creativity is Survival. We no longer live in an age where information and knowledge are enough, we need empathy and creativity to survive and thrive in our places of employment. And more importantly, creativity is linked to leading a meaningful life. If creativity seems ever present some days and elusive others, this workshop is for you. Thomas Bosket and Jawaher Al-Bader will help you boost your creativity, and better understand your connection to it. Ages 20 & above

Time is in every part of the designed experience - and everything is designed. Projects and conversation will explore the ideas of how we perceive or senses (Biological Time), expressing your experiences through gesture or the bearing of information (Mechanical Time), proprioception (Agrarian Time) and lastly Open Works (Digital Time). We will examine the six distinct temporal dimensions: sequential structure, duration, planning, rate of recurrence, synchronization and temporal perspective through simple stop action animations. Interpretations of our body and wellness are largely influenced by messages outside our actual inner body experiences, but we can learn to listen for the gap in our internal awareness and the influences that shape us. From there, we have more choices for growth and healing. Imagine your body being free of your, and others, external perceptions. Imagine your body free to act in space. Ages 20 & above

Starting with marks made on paper, we will begin to explore the third dimension by finding materials that express the vibrations of our internal ‘knowing’. One large scale collaborative piece will be the result of this 2-day workshop. Ages 20 & above

This is a 3-day workshop for teachers and educators. As adults we require experiences and education that support our sharpened sense of reality, increased capacity for emotion, and our enhanced sense of connectedness. Yet the academic skills we learn as children do not sustain a sense of satisfaction as we become adults. This course will reconnect you with the curious courageous child inside and bring them to bear on your adult challenges. Ages 20 & above

In this class the student will design and create their own comic character. Drawing from real life they will be inspired to make a new form, working together they will craft a story about their character and how it interacts with others.

Creativity and Business expert Daniel Pink predicts the workers of the future will need to understand: these Six Senses: Design: it must also be beautiful, whimsical, or emotionally engaging. Story: persuasion, communication, and self-understanding. Symphony: Putting the pieces together. Empathy: understand what makes their fellow woman or man tick, to forge rela¬tionships, and to care for others. Play: laughter, lightheartedness, games, humor, and to play. Meaning: purpose, transcendence, and spiritual fulfilment

“What is “art” to you, as a Kuwaiti? Who, historically, is a merchant...a family member...a nomad a brave adventurous soul? Our mission/goal is to find that out! We will know when we reach our goal as it will feel like nothing else we have ever seen or experienced. Day 1 Brainstorming and Creation of Space, Day 2 Questioning and Awareness, Day 3 Analogy and Metaphor, Day 4 Beyond the Senses: Abstraction, Day 5 Ideation and Oblique Strategies

This workshop is ideal for anyone who is already in the world of art (artist, art student, art historian, etc.) and who wants to learn more about color: what it is, how it works, how to discern it more sensitively in the world around you, and how to use it more effectively in your own artwork. Thomas will present theoretical information about color then will give you exercises to help you absorb and integrate what he has taught. You will come away from the workshop with your head spinning with new ideas, amazed and delighted with how you are perceiving color and able to use it anew. Concepts covered: Relativity, Contrast of Extension, Simultaneous Contrast, Illusion of Transparency, The 7 Contrasts and Redistribution of Color.

Rolling down hills, digging in the dirt or just laying in the grass looking at the bright, blue sky - these are the things we do as kids. As we age, what happens to that play? To the love of our body? To the freedom of exploration of how things feel. If you’re looking to bring back a sense of play, to understand the structure of your body and to honor it as the vehicle for your spirit, this is the workshop for you.

We will take the personal, combine it with historical and apply it to the societal. This is an art drawn into life workshop to aid us in communicating with each other so that the disconnects we feel can be better understood and possibly healed.

What makes your city a city? What makes it your home? Considering these question, we will build a small cardboard city to explore these questions and have vivid experiences that guide our understanding of the relationships we have to our city and homes.

This is a first of- a- kind Pre-College Program in Kuwait, catering to visual learners. Collectively, the team members have 12 years of Design Education and over 15 years teaching in the field of Design and Art Education. The course was designed by two Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) Alumni and an Educational Expert to fill the needs of Manifesto13’s teen population. Our expertise in Design and Art Education has enabled us to fill the gap in education for our pre-college students. Depending on the number of returning students, the class will be split into two sections. The sections will be taking place simultaneously in the same studio.

This is an intensive drawing workshop that is mostly about strengthening and clarifying your personal visual language and then finding the best form to communicate that message to a specific audience. We will take the personal, combine it with historical and apply it to the societal. This is an art drawn into life workshop to aid us in communicating with each other so that the disconnects we feel can be better understood and possibly healed.

This adult painting program introduces student to the world acrylic and oil. A 15 session exploration into portrait and landscape art.
